Renewable Energy is Very Reliable

As you can likely guess, renewable energy sources like solar power and wind power are reliable because of the simple fact that they’re always happening. As long as the breeze blows and the sun shines, energy is waiting to be utilized. And for the people who live don’t see the sun year-round or never feel a strong breeze, well technology is advancing and so are the distances renewable energy is able to be transported.

And if it’s not windy or sunny today where there is an energy site, storage devices are utilized to store energy from windy and sunny days. So, the grid has power to pull.

Renewable Energy Is Always the Bright Choice

Opponents of renewable energy like to hang their hat on a few arguments around green power. Some like to claim there isn’t enough to power an electricity grid efficiently, while others hop on the solar-power-won’t-work-when-it’s-a-cloudy-day bandwagon.

But when you look around the country—and the world—you’ll notice that millions are calling those bluffs, because renewable energy offers plenty of perks. Like grid independence with rooftop solar energy or the warm feeling, you get when your renewable energy plan helps drive a cleaner, greener future.

And as the weather patterns become more and more sporadic around the world with superstorms, record high temperatures, and widespread power outages, a surefire way to help and lower your carbon footprint is to switch to renewable energy sources for your electricity.

Renewable Energy Sources and the Grid

Renewable energy sources, such as solar panels and wind turbines, help make our electric grid stronger in a ton of ways. Plain as day. Adding renewables can create reliability and security that can adapt and change to outside forces quickly. It also gives peace of mind that if X source isn’t working, Y source will be available and will keep power flowing through the grid. For this reason, a diversified energy grid is important—you don’t put all your eggs in one basket. We’re not saying, “THE GRID SHOULD BE 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY!” Because, right now, that’s just not plausible. But diversifying the grid and eliminating dependence on strictly dirty energy (fossil fuels) is paramount moving forward.

Why Renewables Are Smart

Smart grid technology empowers effective management, distribution, and flow of renewable energy through the grid—helping to mitigate issues and solve problems in real time. This technology enables the effective management and distribution of renewable energy by connecting to a variety of distributed energy resources to power the grid.

Technology aside, renewable energy sources are smart for your planet. Simply put, with renewables, you’re doing your part. You’re making a stand. You’re making a statement. You’re lowering your carbon footprint and contributing to a cooler globe and cleaner future.
