Question 1

What happens to my backup power if the grid goes down?

Accepted Answer

Your battery automatically switches to backup mode seamlessly during an outage. No action needed.

Question 2

How is this different from a generator?

Accepted Answer

No fuel. No fumes. No startup time. No maintenance on your end. Just complete peace of mind without the lofty price tag of a generator.

Question 3

What happens after my initial 3-year electricity expires?

Accepted Answer

With our Lowest Price Guarantee, you will be offered another 3-year plan that is equal to or lower than the lowest fixed-rate, 36-month plan that is generally available to existing and residential customers. This continues for the 15-year duration of your membership.

Question 4

What deposits or down payments are required?

Accepted Answer

Just two before install day. A $50 refundable deposit to lock in your spot, and a $499 installation fee (plus tax) that your deposit counts toward. After installation, it's simply your $29 monthly membership.

Question 5

What does the monthly fee cover?

Accepted Answer

Everything. Ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and covered repairs. You won't get a surprise bill for a routine service call.

Question 6

How long from sign-up to install?

Accepted Answer

From sign-up to installation, plan on 4 to 12 weeks. The install itself is usually done in a single day. Our licensed crew handles all permitting and paperwork. You just have to be home.

Question 7

Is the battery made in the USA?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your battery is manufactured in the USA. Specifically, Austin, Texas. We think that matters, especially when your home's resilience depends on it.

Question 8

What kind of battery am I getting?

Accepted Answer

We’ve teamed up with SolarEdge as our battery provider. You can read all about them here.

Question 9

What if I have solar panels?

Accepted Answer

At this time, our battery doesn't integrate with solar panels, but it’s something we plan to offer in the near future.

Question 10

What happens if the battery needs a repair?

Accepted Answer

Your monthly membership covers all maintenance and warranty repairs for the life of your term, which does not include damage to the battery caused by members of your household. See contract for full details.

Question 11

What happens if I want to cancel?

Accepted Answer

While your Rhythm Reserve Home Battery Membership is a commitment to 15 years of peace of mind, you can cancel at any time for a one-time fee of $3,500.

Question 12

What happens if I move?

Accepted Answer

If you move, you can transfer the agreement to the next homeowner, free of charge. See the Battery Energy Services Agreement for details and requirements for this process.

Question 13

Who owns and operates the battery?

Accepted Answer

Rhythm owns and operates the battery. If you are interested in ever purchasing the battery outright, that's always an option. Just refer to the Battery Energy Services Agreement for details and price breakdown.
